Project Overview

Since January 2025, I’ve been working as the Intern Web Designer for the Italian Contemporary Film Festival (ICFF), one of Canada’s premier multicultural film festivals. My role focuses on maintaining and enhancing the WordPress website to ensure it’s visually engaging, up-to-date, user-friendly, and aligned with ICFF’s dynamic programming and seasonal campaigns.

Key Responsibilities & Contributions

• Website Updates & Design Enhancements
  Regularly update homepage banners, featured events, and news sections using WPBakery Page Builder and custom CSS/JS for more precise layout control.

• Custom Code Solutions
  Implement custom styling and scripts to support design tweaks and interactive features that go beyond WPBakery’s native capabilities.

• Performance & Maintenance
  Monitor and maintain the site’s performance, optimize page speed, manage plugin updates, and troubleshoot any layout or display issues.

• Email Marketing Integration
  Design and connect newsletter sign-up forms to Mailchimp, ensuring brand consistency across web and email platforms.

• Event Promotions & Campaign Support
  Support festival programming by updating film/event listings, adding sponsor content, and highlighting key events with tailored CTAs.

Ongoing Impact

My ongoing contributions have helped streamline content updates, improve the site’s visual polish, and support ICFF’s broader marketing efforts. The website is now more flexible, easier to manage for internal teams, and more engaging for visitors across Canada and abroad.
